Introduction

This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") governs the conditions for cancellation, credit refunds, and monetary refunds applicable to the online English-language education platform ("Platform") operated by Sefa KIRLI under the trade name Nona Academy. This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Service published on the Platform.

By purchasing a lesson, session, or Study Plan, you represent that you have read and accepted all provisions of this Policy.

Article 1 — Definitions

"Lesson Credit": A virtual unit of value loaded to a student's account for the purpose of purchasing lessons or sessions, valid exclusively on the Nona Academy platform.

"Study Plan": The Green, Orange, or Purple educational packages available on a monthly, 3-month, or 6-month subscription basis.

"Individual Session": A one-to-one study session (Study Session 1:1) or a one-to-one speaking session (Speaking Session 1:1).

"Booking": A lesson or session reservation confirmed by the student through the Platform.

"Transaction Fee": The 2.43% fee charged by the payment service provider on each transaction.

Article 2 — Individual Session Cancellations

2.1 Student-Initiated Cancellation

Timely Cancellation (24 hours or more in advance): Where a booked session is cancelled at least 24 (twenty-four) hours before the scheduled start time, the amount paid will be refunded in full as Lesson Credit to the student's account. No cash refund will be issued.

Late Cancellation (less than 24 hours in advance): Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time of a session will not result in a Lesson Credit refund, and the session fee will be deemed forfeited.

No-Show: Failure to attend a session without any prior notification will result in no refund or Lesson Credit being issued.

2.2 Nona Academy-Initiated Cancellation

Where a session is cancelled due to any of the following circumstances attributable to Nona Academy:

  • Teacher or Speaker unavailability,

  • Technical failure originating from the Platform,

  • Force majeure events;

the student will be offered, at their election, one of the following remedies:

a) Rescheduling of the session at the earliest available opportunity, or b) A full refund of the amount paid as Lesson Credit.

Article 3 — Study Plan Cancellations

3.1 Right of Withdrawal

Pursuant to Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers and the Distance Contracts Regulation, the right of withdrawal expires where performance of a digital service contract has commenced with the express consent of the consumer. Nona Academy records this consent at the point of purchase.

3.2 Cancellation Before Plan Commencement

Where a Study Plan has been purchased but no lesson or session has been used, and a cancellation request is submitted within 24 (twenty-four) hours of the date of purchase, the amount paid less the Transaction Fee (2.43%) will be refunded as Lesson Credit.

Where the 24-hour window has elapsed and no lessons have been used, no cash refund will be issued; unused lesson entitlements will be converted to Lesson Credit.

3.3 Cancellation After Plan Commencement

Once at least one lesson or session under a Plan has been used, no cash refund will be issued.

Remaining unused lesson entitlements will be converted to Lesson Credit on the following basis:

  • The number of unused lessons is calculated as a proportion of the total lessons included at the start of the Plan.

  • The proportionate amount is loaded as Lesson Credit.

  • This credit may be used across all Nona Academy services for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of loading.

3.4 Upfront Payment Discounts

Where a Plan was purchased at a 3-month or 6-month upfront discount, any credit calculation upon partial cancellation will be based on the discounted price actually paid, not the original monthly list price.

3.5 Purchases Made with an Affiliate Coupon

Where a purchase was made using an affiliate coupon code, any Lesson Credit refund will be calculated on the basis of the amount actually paid by the student.

Article 4 — Monetary Refund Conditions

A monetary (cash) refund will only be considered in the following exceptional circumstances:

a) Permanent discontinuation of services by Nona Academy, b) Duplicate payment resulting from a technical error in the purchase process, c) Circumstances in which applicable Turkish consumer legislation mandates a cash refund.

Where a monetary refund is approved, the amount paid less the Transaction Fee (2.43%) will be refunded via the original payment method within 10 (ten) business days.

Article 5 — Lesson Credit Conditions

  • Lesson Credit is valid exclusively on the Nona Academy platform; it may not be withdrawn as cash or transferred to any third party.

  • Lesson Credit expires 12 (twelve) months from the date it is loaded to the account. Any unused credit will lapse upon expiry.

  • Lesson Credit may be applied to all service types offered by Nona Academy (plan purchases, individual sessions, speaking sessions).

  • Where an account is closed by Nona Academy on grounds of breach, any accrued Lesson Credit will be forfeited.

Article 6 — Cancellation and Refund Request Process

To submit a cancellation or refund request:

  1. Send an email to hello@nona.academy.

  2. Include the following information: full name, registered email address, order number, the lesson or plan to be cancelled, and the reason for cancellation.

  3. Requests will be acknowledged and responded to within 3 (three) business days of receipt.

  4. Approved Lesson Credits will be loaded to the account within 2 (two) business days of approval.

Article 7 — Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes shall be referred to the competent Consumer Arbitration Committee or the Courts of İzmir.
